Darowyn is the performing alias that I use. It is a name generated by a computer programmme I wrote to generate exotic names. By pure coincidence, if it was a Welsh name, it would mean "white oak". I am not Welsh, I was born in Lincolnshire, in a town whose name is often censored by profanity check software. While I was there, I was highly commended in the local Communist Party Second Annual Baby Show. I grew up and went to school in Leeds, Where my Mother warned me that I should study my school subjects more thoroughly, because I would never make any money from Music or Motorbikes. I went to University in Liverpool, and became a teacher, though most of my life I have made a living out of something to do with Music or Motorbikes.

I have been a teacher, a youth worker, a designer and maker of exhaust pipes fo racing motorbikes, a music producer, a fortune teller, a trainer of motorcycle instructors , and a worker in a glass factory.

I play six and twelve string guitars, steel guitar, bass guitar, mandolin, melodeon and regard computer music software, especially Pro Tools and Reason, as the best thing ever invented for creating music.

I've raced my bike at most of the UK circuits, played in the songwriters clubs in Nashville, and helped launch the careers of hundreds of young people, including my own children- and now I have grandsons....The story continues.

I do not spend much time worrying about the things I have not done, and I feel sorry for those people who say "I've always wanted to ....(insert what you wish), but I never got the chance."

There are lot's of things I always wanted to do , and I've done them all. I fully intend to carry on doing them for a long time yet
