I bought my first guitar when I was sixteen. It was an unplayable finger-shredding horror. But it did not stop me from starting to write songs.
I was a very serious little thing at that time, so I was very impressed with all the writers like Bob Dylan who could put together complicated, deeply significant lyrics. Now, I don't sing anything I wrote in those days. It's embarrassing enough to read them!
Many years later I found out how to say what I want to say in simple words, and to know the value of a good strong tune.
Listen to the songs on here, and see what a simple song can do. |
